Hi, I’m Ronan Penny.
I’m a mechanical engineering student at City College of San Francisco, preparing to transfer into aerospace engineering at San José State. I focus on system integration, fabrication, and prototyping across mechanical, electrical, and embedded domains. My work includes designing drive systems, casting rubber components, programming sensor logic in C++, and assembling control hardware for autonomous robotics and solar powered vehicles.
I led a team that built three autonomous sumo robots which placed at RoboGames 2024, and I developed the electrical system and custom carbon fiber propeller for a competition solar boat. I also have experience with servo modification, breadboard prototyping, and working in shared makerspaces like Noisebridge.
I focus on practical system design, fast iteration, and integrating mechanical, electrical, and control systems into reliable working solutions.
